InvestBraga is Hiring for the Braga Youth Center / Youth Hostel: Housekeeping Attendant
We are looking for a dedicated individual to join our team as a Housekeeping Attendant for the Braga Youth Center / Youth Hostel. The selected candidate will be responsible for cleaning, tidying, and decorating rooms/floors and common areas, as well as handling laundry services to ensure a high-quality service and guest satisfaction.
Job Description
- Perform cleaning, tidying, and decorating tasks in rooms, floors, meeting rooms, auditorium, and common areas, using appropriate products and replacing bed linen, towels, and personal hygiene items.
- Provide assistance to guests during their stay and offer information about the hostel and its services.
- Collaborate with the laundry/linen service, including washing, ironing, folding, and storing linen and clothes.
- Monitor the condition of accommodation equipment, cleaning products, and materials necessary for room and common area maintenance, as well as for laundry services.
- Assist in preparing the periodic inventory of linen, objects, and equipment used in housekeeping services.
- Complete documentation related to daily tasks, such as room cleaning logs, linen reception and return records, and lost-and-found items.
- Perform other tasks related to the hostel’s operation.
Skills, Competencies, and Attributes
- Minimum Education: Secondary Education — 12th grade with technical specialization in Housekeeping (preferred).
- Proven experience in housekeeping, preferably in the hospitality sector.
- Ability to identify with the organization’s goals and culture.
- Initiative and problem-solving skills in handling guest requests and complaints.
- Proficiency in cleaning and tidying rooms, floors, and common areas.
- Knowledge of quality, hygiene, and occupational safety procedures.
- Ability to operate laundry machines and apply laundry techniques.
- Familiarity with cleaning products and materials used in housekeeping.
- Understanding of conservation and storage procedures for cleaning products and materials.
- Proficiency in completing control documentation related to housekeeping activities.
- Strong communication skills, both oral and written, to effectively interact with national and international guests and other stakeholders.
- Basic computer skills relevant to accommodation services.
