Accenture opens a technology centre in Braga
100 new highly qualified jobs
Accenture inaugurated, this morning, in Braga, the new technology centre, in an event attended by the Prime Minister, António Costa, and the Secretary of State for Industry, João Vasconcelos. The investment, which was supported and monitored by InvestBraga, creates 100 new jobs in the short term, a number that the company intends to double already next year.
The new centre in Braga is already providing support to several organizations in Portugal and also to clients in Europe, Africa, North America and Latin America. The recruitment process focuses on the areas of computer engineering, computing, electrotechnology and electronics.
During the event, which besides the Prime Minister and the Secretary of State for Industry, was also attended by the President of InvestBraga, Carlos Oliveira, and the Mayor of Braga, Ricardo Rio, Susana Mata, managing director of Accenture Technology announced the company's intention to double the number of jobs already next year.
The president of Accenture Portugal, José Gonçalves, said the new centre "is aligned with the strategy of Accenture" and reinforced that InvestBraga was a key partner for the installation of the company in the city.
For the President of InvestBraga, Carlos Oliveira, "Braga gathers the essential conditions for attracting sustainable investment, especially based on knowledge and technology, such as the international Bosch, Delphi, Fujitsu, Outsystems, WeDO and now Accenture, which have invested in the city".
Carlos Oliveira also adds that "Braga has a number of competitive advantages, especially highly qualified human resources, an enviable quality of life and a much more affordable cost of living than Lisbon and other European cities, and the same is true when it comes to costs for the companies".
