Fujitsu appointed as Business Ambassador of Braga

Fujitsu employs more than 200 people at the Competence Centre in Braga and will exceed 300 by the end of the year

InvestBraga appointed today Fujitsu as Business Ambassador of Braga. Represented by Susana Soares, Marketing Director of Fujitsu Portugal, and by Sofia Barbosa, Head of Portugal Global Delivery Center, Fujitsu joins the group of Ambassadors, whose mission is to promote Braga to national and international stakeholders, strengthening the image of the region. The protocol was signed this morning during a visit to the Fujitsu Competence Centre in Braga.

Fujitsu expanded to Braga in May last year, with the inauguration of a Competence Centre, which provides technical support services in four languages (English, French, Spanish and Portuguese) to thousands of users worldwide. The investment in the municipality was supported and accompanied by InvestBraga. Currently, Fujitsu has already created 200 qualified jobs in Braga, with the goal of reaching 300 in the medium term, as announced at the inauguration about a year ago.

"It was with great satisfaction that we welcomed Fujitsu last year, and it is with equal satisfaction that we now see it entering the group of Business Ambassadors of Braga", says Carlos Oliveira, president of InvestBraga, adding that "Braga seeks sustainable investment, which generates qualified employment and development, especially based on knowledge and technology, and gathers the essential conditions to achieve it, as can be seen with the investment of Fujitsu and other big companies that have already chosen to invest in the municipality".

According to Susana Soares, Marketing Director at Fujitsu Portugal "after almost a year of operation in Braga, we can confirm that this was a good bet; the region has a vibrant population, qualified, with high language skills and able to provide a service that corresponds to the high levels of quality that Fujitsu Competence Centres provide to our Clients around the world".

Sofia Barbosa, Head of Portugal Global Delivery Center, states that "the intellectual capital and technical skills that we find in Braga, together with our commitment to the continuous training of our employees, are fundamental to the success of our services. With motivated teams that guarantee high resolution rates and that meet the levels of service agreed with our clients, we hope to continue to expand this Centre and exceed 300 employees by the end of this year".
